| Every day millions of people go to work with the intention of making a positive difference. We desire to do a good job while being both challenged and appreciated. We spend more waking hours in the workplace than we do with our family.
Why is it so often that these good intentions don’t become a reality?
After years of working closely with employees, within multiple industries, I have learned there are two reasons why these good
intentions do not come to fruition; Life and People. Life is something that happens and people are what make life interesting.
Notice I did not say fun, I said interesting. Since most of us do not work isolated, we work with people-then life can be interesting.
Neither is totally predictable or easily controlled.
When you give up on trying to control and instead influence in a positive way, you get closer to being able to put the pieces together to create the picture you want. |
